Die Arde vanuit den Himmel was opened on 1 September 2003 by Mr J Cohen, Mayor of Amsterdam, Mr H Komatsuzaki, the managing director of Canon Europe, and the man responsible for the photographs, Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
The exhibition was located by the canals, outside the Opera House at Stopera, Amstel 1.
After several extensions, the exhibition finally closed on 1 February 2004.
