Wild Wonders of Europe llega a Madrid
Exposición fotográfica al aire libre

Madrid, España – El martes 25 de septiembre la emblemática exposición de aire libre “Wild Wonders of Europe” se abre en el parque de El Buen Retiro, en el centro de Madrid, España. Será inaugurada por la Excma. Alcaldesa de Madrid, Sra. Dña. Ana Botella, y permanecerá en el parque, junto a la vistosa Rosaleda, hasta el 15 de Diciembre ofreciendo un acceso gratuito todos los días.
La exhibición española es la quinta etapa en su tour paneuropeo siendo la primera vez que llega al sur de Europa, habiendo permanecido recientemente dos meses en el centro de Berlin donde cerca de 1 millón de visitantes, incluidos 1000 escolares, disfrutaron con las espectaculares imágenes de la exposición ubicada en la Washingtonplatz. Esta fantástica exposición de Madrid ha sido posible gracias al apoyo del principal colaborador, Rewilding Europe, que está preparando el terreno para una nueva visión de la conservación en Europa, aquella en la que el hombre y la naturaleza se benefician. Junto con el Ayuntamiento de Madrid, United Postcode Lotteries, Philips, Fotonatura.org, WWF España y el Congreso Mundial de Vida Salvaje WILD 10 (que tendrá lugar en Salamanca en España el 2013), son los colaboradores más importantes que en común han hecho posible que Wild Wonders of Europe llegue al público español.
Una celebración de la vida salvaje europea Wild Wonders of Europe es la mayor iniciativa de comunicación sobre conservación nunca antes vista. Dirigida por Magnus Lundgren, Florian Möllers, Staffan Widstrand y Bridget Wijnberg es a su vez la única iniciativa paneuropea que lleva en marcha desde hace 5 años. Es una celebración de la alegría por lo silvestre, por nuestro común patrimonio natural europeo y por el sorprendente retorno de la vida salvaje europea. La exposición muestra 100 impresionantes imágenes a tamaño natural de los 48 países europeos para mostrar los sensacionales tesoros naturales de nuestro continente. La desconocida, inesperada e inolvidable vida salvaje y lugares naturales que la mayoría de nosotros ni siquiera sabíamos que existían.
Mediante trabajos de campo encargados por Wild Wonders of Europe, las fotografías han sido realizadas por 69 de los mejores fotógrafos europeos de naturaleza y vida salvaje durante un periodo de quince meses lo que confiere a la exposición una poderosa fuerza emocional. Desde Svalbard en el norte, hasta las islas Canarias en el sur, desde las Azores al oeste hasta el Caúcaso en el este, la exposición es un auténtico descubrimiento del entorno natural que cada uno de nosotros tiene la oportunidad de vivenciar. Y es un recordatorio de aquellas especies que nos arriesgamos a perder, si no están protegidas.
Cuatro de los más mundialmente renombrados fotógrafos españoles fueron seleccionados para realizar trabajos de campo: Juan Carlos Muñoz, Diego López, José B. Ruiz e Iñaki Relanzón. Una selección especial de imágenes del área de retorno a las condiciones naturales del Oeste Ibérico también estará en la exhibición.
Una celebración de la conservación de la naturaleza Wild Wonders of Europe es una manifestación ante el retorno de la vida salvaje europea como resultado de 40 años de decisiones por la conservación de la naturaleza. Demuestra que las tareas de conservación de la naturaleza funcionan, solo que necesitamos más.
La imagen principal de la exposición, el lince ibérico, fue tomada por el célebre fotógrafo Pete Oxford e ilustra los enormes logros que los esfuerzos coordinados de conservación pueden alcanzar. Una de las dos especies de felinos más amenazados del mundo, el lince ibérico, ha experimentado un éxito notable de reproducción. La población de 300 ejemplares está siendo reforzada por 60 crías nacidas este año en España y Portugal. Rewilding Europe tiene la intención de formar parte del programa para su reintroducción.
Asimismo estos éxitos servirán como plataforma para discutir los problemas que deben ser abordados con urgencia, principalmente en los mares europeos, donde España tiene una seria responsibilidad que abordar en nombre de las generaciones futuras.

Tour de la exposición En el verano del 2010 Wild Wonders of Europa realizó su estreno en La Haya siendo inaugurada por Su Alteza Real la Princesa Irene de los Países Bajos. Ese mismo año se expuso en la histórica ciudad de Praga antes de trasladarse a Copenhague en el 2011 y Berlin en el 2012. Otras exposiciones se están preparando para diversas importantes ciudades europeas.

También han organizado el libro y la aclamada exposición ‘La Tierra vista desde el aire’ y ‘100 Lugares para recordar antes que desaparezcan’.

Wild Wonders of Europe is the world’s largest nature conservation communication initiative, ever. This unique campaign is a celebration of the joy of the wild and of our common European natural heritage. The unseen, unexpected and unforgettable wildlife and wild places that most of us don’t even know exist. The exhibition showcases 100 impressive, life size photos from all 48 European countries, revealing the stunning natural treasures of our continent.
It’s about the joy of wildness. About what is still out there and what we risk losing.
Why it matters to us. And why we need to protect it.
The Spanish exhibition marks the 5th in this Pan-European Exhibition tour and is the first time it comes to Southern Europe, here made possible by the support of the main partner, Rewilding Europe, together with The City Council of Madrid, The United Postcode Lotteries, Philips, WWF Spain, Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre, Fotonatura.org and The World Wilderness Congress, WILD 10.
The photos have been taken by 69 of Europe’s Top wildlife photographers sent on 135 assignments by Wild Wonders of Europe over a period of fifteen months. After more than 1100 days in the field, Europe’s incredible wonders are now revealed. The striking emotional power of world class imagery brings us the untold story of the wildlife comeback, whilst at the same time revealing those species that we risk losing. Wild Wonders of Europe shows that nature conservation works, we just need more of it.

Populær fotoudstilling flyttes nu til Kgs. Nytorv
Udstillingen ”Wild Wonders of Europe’ køres på gaffeltruck gennem København natten mellem søndag og mandag.
Efter to succesfulde måneder på Nytorv i København flytter den store udendørs fotoudstilling , ’Wild Wonders of Europe’, fra på mandag til Kgs. Nytorv, hvor den foreløbigt skal stå i endnu fire uger.
Billederne køres på gaffeltruck gennem byen.
Flytningen af de 52 udstillingskasser tager sin begyndelse søndag aften (den 31. juli). To af gangen vil de mange billeder blive flyttet på en gaffeltruck de knap 2 km gennem Københavns Indre By. Alle udstillingskasserne med store fotostater af landskaber, blomster og vilde dyr fra overalt i Europa vil være på deres nye pladser på Kgs. Nytorv fra mandag formiddag. Senest onsdag vil udstillingen igen været fuldt funktionsdygtig med nattebelysning og den 85 m2 store udstillingspavillon, hvor man kan købe bøger, plakater, postkort og udstillingskatalog.
Flere hundredetusinde har allerede set udstillingen
”Flere hundrede tusinde mennesker har foreløbigt besøgt udstillingen, men ferie- og turistsæsonen er langt fra slut endnu. Mange mennesker har fortalt os, at de gerne vil komme igen og tage venner, bekendte og udenlandske gæster med og opleve de enestående billeder af den europæiske natur. Adskillige skolelærere har efterspurgt, at udstillingen fortsatte ind i august og september, så de kunne tage deres elever med og bruge de mange billeder og de informative tekster i undervisningen,” siger Søren Rud fra udstillingsarrangøren, Life Exhibitions.
”Derfor er vi meget glade for, at både Københavns Kommune og vore sponsorer har gjort det muligt at fortsætte udstillingen på Kgs. Nytorv, hvor vi tidligere har haft stor succes med bl.a. udstillingerne ’100 Steder at huske før de forsvinder’ og ’Jorden set fra Himmelen’ ”, siger Søren Rud.
En hyldest til Europas natur og dyreliv
Wild Wonders of Europe er en hyldest til Europas natur og dyreliv og til den naturbeskyttelse, som man kan takke for at Europas dyre-, fugle- og planteliv er i fremmarch. Udstillingen viser 100 billeder i storformat taget i 48 forskellige europæiske lande – fra Svalbard i nord til De kanariske øer i syd og fra Azoerne i vest til det russiske Kaukasus i øst.
Udstillingen er bl.a. støttet ad Dansk Retursystem, Philips , metroXpress og WWF Verdensnaturfonden.

Opening at Nytorv, Copenhagen 1 June 2011
Wedensday 1 June the photo exhibition Wild Wonders of Europe opens at Nytorv in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The grand, outdoor and free-of-charg exhibition will be open 24 hours a day until 29 July.
A celebration of European wildlife
Wild Wonders of Europe is a unique pan-European photo and wildlife project, being in its making for 5 years. It is a celebration of our common European wildlife.It exhibits 100 large scale photos from 48 different European countries revealing stunning natural treasures of our continent. Animals and ladscapes, many of which most of us wouldn’t know existed.
The photos are taken by 69 of Europe’d best wildlife photographers.
With an enormous emotional power it has pictures from Svalbard in the North to the Canary Islands in the South. From the Azores in the West to Russian Caucasus in the East.
It is an eye-opener to natural phenomenons every one of us has the possibility to go out and experience. And it is a reminder of the natural wonders we are at risk of loosing, if they are not protected in due time.
A celebration of nature-conservation
Wild Wonders of Europe is a manifestation of how European wildlife is coming back. Thanks to national and international nature-conservation initiatives biodiversity is in progress. In places, where an effort is made, it works. But still, there is a long way to go.
Danish company behind the international exhibitions
The exhibition is organized by, Life Exhibitions, founded by Stine Norden and Søren Rud. In the past they were responsible for the great book and exhibition successes ’Earth from Above” and ’100 Places to Remember Before they Disappear’. In the summer of 2010 Wild Wonders of Europe had its world premier in The Hague. Later that year Life Exhibitions showed it in Prague. At this moment exhibitions are being prepared for Madrid, Rome, Berlin, Beijing and Washington.
At Nytorv in Copenhagen Wild Wonders of Europe is succeeding the exhibition ’Danmark Dejligst – 100 fredninger’ (’Denmark Naturally – 100 protected areas’) which ends at 29 May.
