Earth from Above in Helsinki

In Finland, Maa Ilmasta – elävän planeettamme muotokuva opened on the site of a former bus station, Lasipalatsi in Helsinki, on 17 June 2005. The city used the spectacular photographic event to mark the square’s transition from bus station to cultural centre, complete with lovely cafés.

The Earth from Above photographer, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, was present at the opening, and took the opportunity to fly over Helsinki and its surroundings to take more pictures.

The exhibition ran for almost four months until 9 October 2005.
