Midt i den betagende natur ved Vadehavet åbnede Prins Joachim den 24. august fotoudstillingen ’100 Steder at huske før de forsvinder.’ Udendørsudstillingen viser 100 billeder af steder i Danmark og i resten af verden, som vil undergå store forandringer, eller som kan forsvinde helt eller delvist på grund af klimaforandringerne.

Udstillingen er et samarbejde mellem udviklingsorganisationen CARE Danmark, Den sønderjyske kulturaftale og LIFE Exhibitions. Prins Joachim er protektor for CARE Danmark og har flere gange besøgt CAREs projekter i Afrika og Asien.

Udstillingen kan ses frem til den 23. oktober og er også støttet af Region Syddanmark, Danfoss, Toosbuys Fond, Center for Undervisningsmidler og Kulturregion Vadehavet.

’100 Steder at huske’ er produceret af Co+ og udarbejdet og redigeret af Stine Trier Norden og Søren Rud fra Life Exhibitions, der også står bag organiseringen af denne udstilling. LIFE Exhibitions har gennem ti år specialiseret sig i fotoudstillinger, både udendørs og indendørs.

The Wild Wonders of Europe show at Nytorv, Copenhagen has attracted thousands of people during June and July – and Life Exhibitions is happy to announce a prolongation of the exhibition at KGS.NYTORV. Due to other cultural events taking place on Nytorv the City of Copenhagen has kindly given us the permission to move the exhibition to Kgs. Nytorv.

You can enjoy the magic pictures until August 31!

On the side of each image holder we have printed fun facts about nature in Denmark, as well as short texts introducing famous Danes from a range of backgrounds, explaining how they see, and are inspired by, nature. The exhibition and book aims to encourage people to visit and revisit the many beauty places on the map, and to help us appreciate the importance of celebrating and preserving our natural heritage.

Opening at Nytorv, Copenhagen 1 June 2011

Wedensday 1 June the photo exhibition Wild Wonders of Europe opens at Nytorv in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The grand, outdoor and free-of-charg exhibition will be open 24 hours a day until 29 July.

A celebration of European wildlife

Wild Wonders of Europe is a unique pan-European photo and wildlife project, being in its making for 5 years. It is a celebration of our common European wildlife.It exhibits 100 large scale  photos from 48 different European countries revealing stunning natural treasures of our continent. Animals and ladscapes, many of which most of us wouldn’t know existed.

The photos are taken by 69 of Europe’d best wildlife photographers.

With an enormous emotional power it has pictures from Svalbard in the North to the Canary Islands in the South. From the Azores in the West to Russian Caucasus in the East.

It is an eye-opener to natural phenomenons every one of us has the possibility to go out and experience. And it is a reminder of the natural wonders we are at risk of loosing, if they are not protected in due time.

A celebration of nature-conservation

Wild Wonders of Europe is a manifestation of how European wildlife is coming back. Thanks to national and international nature-conservation initiatives biodiversity is in progress. In places, where an effort is made, it works. But still, there is a long way to go.

Danmarks Naturfredningsforening markerer 100 året for foreningens stiftelse med en stor udendørsudstilling, der – som naturen – har fri adgang og er gratis for publikum.
Fra den 30. april 2011 til og med den 29. maj inviterer Danmarks Naturfredningsforening alle borgere til en enestående udendørsudstilling i hjertet af København.
Hendes Majestæt Dronningen åbnede den  30. april kl. 16.30  udstillingen ’Danmark Dejligst – 100 fredninger’, som er en åben og gratis udendørsudstilling på Nytorv ved Strøget i København.

Margrethe II of Denmark inaugurated the exhibition April 30^th

The exhibition is a celebration of the Danish landscape. It presents some of the finest natural habitats Denmark has to offer, from wide open spaces to small and unique habitats. What they all have in common is that they are protected, thanks wholly or partially to the efforts of the Danish Society for Nature Conservation.

The exhibition will run until May 30^th – open round the clock at NYTORV, Copenhagen.
